Who’s Hot:
Spruce Grove:
- Saints Penalty Kill
The Saints come into action on Saturday with the most penalty minutes in the BCHL, possessing 376 on the season and while they continue to be in an effort to suppress that number, Spruce Grove’s penalty kill has been strong over the last handful of games. The Saints have gone 15-for-17 on the PK over the course of their last four games, operating at 88.8% during that stretch while being shorthanded a total of 78 times this season, ranking 12th in the league.
- Month of November
Tonight marks the final game of the month for the Saints, who sit with a 4-5 record over the course of November and look to finish the month on a strong note and at an even .500. Spruce Grove also sits three points behind West Kelowna in the standings in the Interior Conference into action on Saturday and though it may be the final day in November, the jockeying for playoff positioning is on and every point matters.
West Kelowna:
- Jackson Kyrkostas – Forward – West Palm Beach, Florida – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
With some player movement and departures for the Warriors, Kyrkostas has stepped up in a big way to help his team and provided offense with his 22 points on the season. The RPI commit has earned points in five of his last seven games and sits 5th in the league with 18 assists on the season while producing 70 points in his 78-game BCHL career.
- Sam LeDrew – Forward – Stillwater Lake, Nova Scotia – St. Lawrence University
Since LeDrew’s arrival in West Kelowna, the St. Lawrence commit has been producing strongly and continues that rate as his first BCHL season moves on. The Stillwater Lake, NS native has 20 points in 20 games and has earned points in six of his last eight games while having a big impact the last time these two teams met, scoring twice and adding an assist back on October 26th in Spruce Grove.
