Who To Watch For:

Spruce Grove:

  • Ethan Kronewitt – Forward – Stony Plain, Alberta

A penalty shot goal in Saturday’s victory over the Warriors coupled with an assist gave the Stony Plain native a multi-point effort to help his team to their 15th win of the season. Kronewitt’s penalty shot tally gave even more life to a game that was boiling all night long and the three-year Saint has enjoyed a fairly good run of offense over the last few games, posting points in four of his last six contests and earning a goal and three assists for four points during that span.

  • Matheson Mason – Forward – Toronto, Ontario – Lake Superior State University

A pair of goals in Saturday’s win plus an assist gave Mason his second three-point contest of the season, joining his effort from October 5th against the Sherwood Park Crusaders when he identically had two goals and an assist. The LSSU commit has been playing good hockey despite not factoring in on the scoresheet and will hope that the big night on Saturday turns the tide for him offensively. When Mason has created, the following game has always been an effective as he has earned points in back-to-back games three of four times this season.

Brooks:

  • Keith McInnis – Defenceman – Red Deer, Alberta – University of Minnesota-Duluth

Sitting 11th in points from the blueline this season, McInnis has been excellent on the back end for the Bandits and has points in three of his last four games, including a big three-point night that came against the Saints on January 24th in Brooks. Set to join Josh Polak at UMD, McInnis has two goals and three assists for five points over his last four games and is coming off of his 8th goal of the season on Sunday afternoon in Vernon.

  • Nathan Free – Forward – Calgary, Alberta – Penn State University

The 6th leading scorer in the BC Hockey League had a strong weekend in BC where he collected three goals and an assist for four points over three games and comes into Friday’s game having scored a goal in each of the three matchups against the Saints this season, tallying four markers throughout the season series. A Penn State commit, Free has been good against just about everyone this season and has four goals and assist in his last four games while the Calgary native’s 23 goals this season are good for 5th in the league in goal scoring.

The Saints and Bandits do battle for the fourth of five times this season with puck drop slated for 7:00 PM on Friday night at Grant Fuhr Arena. Tickets are available for purchase online at tickets.sprucegrovesaints.ca.
