Joseph Quintilio made 23 saves while Alexy Lachaine scored a pair of power play goals to lead the Spruce Grove Saints to their fifth consecutive victory as they knocked off the Brooks Bandits by a 4-2 score on Saturday night at Centennial Regional Arena.
Lachaine scored the first of his two tallies in the game in the opening period to draw first blood for the Saints, knocking down a James Richards shot from the blue line before jamming the puck through the pads of Bandits goaltender Lincoln Molind to earn the visitors a 1-0 lead halfway through the opening frame.
Joseph Quintilio stood tall in the Saints net, including a huge save on Isaac Johnson moving from his right to left and denying the Bandit forward with his left pad to keep the Saints lead at a goal heading into the middle frame.
Adam Perron doubled the Spruce Grove advantage with his 4th goal of the season and second in 2026 as he stole the puck from a Bandit defender on a turnover and cut to the slot before beating Molind on the glove side to give the Saints a two-goal advantage into the 3rd frame.
The Bandits got into the game with a strike from Luke Melnik just over three minutes into the final period before a miscommunication behind the Saints net saw Mathis Dufour take advantage at the front of the net and tie the game in the final five minutes of the third period.
Shortly after the goal, the Bandits took a pair of penalties at the same time and opened the door for the Saints to get their lead back with a 5-on-3 power play and they did just that as it was Lachaine again, banging in a loose puck to the right pad of Molind for his second goal of the game and 5th of the season pushed the Saints to a lead at 3-2.
Robert Fedor added insurance on the Saints lead just over two minutes later with his 4th goal of the season and capped a strong effort on the road for the Saints, who earned their fifth win in a row with a 4-2 triumph in Brooks.
