Joseph Quintilio earned his first BCHL shutout as the Spruce Grove Saints extended their win-streak to six games with a 3-0 win over the Trail Smoke Eaters.
The first period saw power play opportunities for both teams but neither were able to capitalize, leading to a scoreless opening frame.
Less than two minutes into the second period, Declan Waddick scored his 16th of the season to open the scoring and put the Saints on top 1-0. Then, halfway through the frame, Chris Battaini scored his first as a Saint, giving them a 2-0 lead.
With both goalies standing tall in the final period, the only goal was scored by Brett Barnes who lofted the puck down the ice to score the empty-netter and win the game 3-0 for the Saints.
