Ryan De Kok made 39 saves as the Spruce Grove Saints fell 3-2 in overtime to the Brooks Bandits.
The first frame saw two power plays for the Saints and one for the Bandits. However, neither team were able to capitalize on the man-advantage and the game remained scoreless after 20 minutes.
Less than a minute into the middle period, Jack Good opened the scoring to put the Bandits up 1-0. Five minutes later, Declan Waddick responded to tie the game at one. The Bandits then scored to once again take the lead. However, Tre Peck answered back with the rebound to tie the game at two headed into the third frame.
The final 20 minutes of regulation saw some rough stuff between the two teams and offensive opportunities. However, both goalies were shutting the door and the game appeared destined for overtime.
The game concluded quickly with the Bandits finding the back of the net just two minutes into overtime to defeat the Saints and win the game 3-2.
