Although the Saints posted 48 shots, they opened their double-header weekend with a 4-2 loss to the Surrey Eagles.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the first frame with two consecutive power play goals – taking a 2-0 lead over the Saints.
Easton Jacobs scored just about halfway through the middle period to give the Eagles a commanding 3-0 lead. However, Michael Azzarone got on the board to give Saints fans some hope.
However, halfway through the final period, the Eagles scored again to lead 4-1. Tre Peck then scored with less than three minutes left in the game to cut the score in half. The late push was not enough for the Saints to make a comeback and they fell 4-2.
