GAME RECAP: Saints Fall To Crusaders In Exhibition Matchup

SPRUCE GROVE, AB – The Spruce Grove Saints got goals from Adam Lang and Max Seguin and despite outshooting their opposition by a 36-26 margin, fell to the Sherwood Park Crusaders by a 4-2 score on Friday night at Grant Fuhr Arena.

The Crusaders opened the scoring midway through the first period when John Alex Banks found the back of the net, giving Sherwood Park a 1-0 lead. However, the Saints responded with two quick goals of their own. Adam Lang evened the score with a top-shelf shot, and less than two minutes later, Max Seguin capitalized on a chance to put the Saints up 2-1.

The second period saw a strong defensive effort from both sides, but it was Sherwood Park’s Nicolas Dipaolo who leveled the game at 2-2, scoring just moments after stepping out of the penalty box.

Less than a minute into the final frame, the Crusaders struck again to take a 3-2 lead, a deficit the Saints could not overcome. Despite a late push and several quality chances, the Crusaders sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
