Spruce Grove Saints General Manger Rob Sklaruk announced today the addition of forward Josh Polak to the active roster as a ‘Black Ace’.
In accordance with BCHL rules, each team is permitted to designate three players as ‘Black Aces’ that can be added to teams active rosters after the trade deadline. To be eligible, players must have signed a recruitment letter for the upcoming 2024-2025 season – a requirement which Polak has fulfilled with the Saints.
Polak, 17, will make his junior hockey debut with the Saints on Tuesday night against Blackfalds.
Hailing from Calgary, AB, Polak joins the Saints after an impressive season with Shawnigan Lake U18 Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), where he amassed 53 points (21 goals, 32 assists) in 30 games.
Standing 5’11” and weighing 170 pounds, the 2006-born forward adds high end skill to the Saints’ lineup.
Following the Saints matchup against the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Tuesday, the Saints will embark on a road trip to Okotoks and Brooks for a pair of games this weekend.
