Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Thursday the return of forward Josh Polak (’06) as he will join the team for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Polak, 19, makes his return to Spruce Grove after beginning the season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Lincoln Stars where the 5’11”, 185-pound forward amassed four goals and five assists for nine points in 28 games this season.
The Strathcona County, Alberta native returns to the Saints lineup after having a strong offensive campaign in his rookie season in the BCHL where he collected 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points while suiting up in all 54 games for the club a season ago. The University of Minnesota-Duluth commit led the Saints in goals and points over the course of the season and represented Spruce Grove as an All-Star at the BCHL’s All-Star Weekend in Salmon Arm in early 2025.
Injecting a player like Josh into the lineup was something that the Saints were looking forward to, “Josh has a fantastic skill set and a terrific shot that will add to our offense instantly,” said Sklaruk, “His speed will bring another layer of impact to our game and having familiarity with the organization, it is great to have Josh back in Spruce Grove.”
Polak will join the team immediately with the group heading to Cranbrook for a pair of games against the Bucks, beginning on Friday night at Western Financial Place. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM with the game streamed live on FloHockey.
