Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Thursday the team has acquired goaltender Bodee Weiss (’04) from the Langley Rivermen in exchange for goaltender Xander Miceli (’05).

Weiss, 20, is no stranger to Alberta as the Medicine Hat product played the last three seasons with the Bonnyville Pontiacs before moving to BC. The 6’1”, 181-pound netminder held an impressive 56-40-8 record in 106 games in Bonnyville to go along with a 3.15 goals against average and a .897 save percentage and three shutouts. In Langley this season, Weiss has gotten into 20 games and holds a 3.83 GAA and a .878 SV% along with one shutout.

The Saints would like to thank Xander for his time and contributions to the organization and the City of Spruce Grove.

The guys hit the ice for the first of a weekend double header at Grant Fuhr Arena beginning on Friday night as they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM and tickets are available for purchase online at tickets.sprucegrovesaints.ca.
