Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced on Friday the team has acquired forward Spencer Rheaume (’05) from the Okotoks Oilers in exchange for future considerations.
Rheaume, 20, comes to Spruce Grove after playing last season with the Okotoks Oilers where the 5’11”, 174-pound forward posted nine goals and 23 points in 52 games played to sit 7th in team scoring. The Beaverlodge, Alberta native came to the BCHL after two seasons in the AJHL with the Whitecourt Wolverines where he posted 22 goals and 69 points in 113 career games.
Adding another veteran with BCHL experience was a driving factor in making this move for the Saints, “Spencer brings a lot of experience and coming in with knowledge of the league is a huge plus for us,” mentioned GM Rob Sklaruk, “In Spencer, we get a gritty player who can contribute in all three zones and is reliable in all situations.”
Spruce Grove begins their new season ushering in a new era at the Thompson Family Arena on Friday, September 19th as they host the Brooks Bandits to kick-off the 2025-26 BC Hockey League season.
