Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Friday the team has signed defenseman Josh Zitzman (’07) for the 2026-27 season.
The Chicago, IL product was most recently with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL. The right-shot defenseman suited up in 57 games during the 2025-26 season, recording 5 goals and 17 assists for 22 points while adding 32 penalty minutes. Zitzman brings strong junior experience and will look to add stability and puck-moving ability to the Saints’ blue line next season.
“We are excited to have Josh a part of our organization next year,” said GM Rob Sklaruk. “He is a talented young defenseman who competes hard, skates well, and plays a reliable two-way game. We believe he has a bright future and will be a great fit within our group both on and off the ice.”
“Spruce Grove felt like the right place for me because the organization is committed to developing players and building a winning culture.” said Zitzman. “I’m excited to be a Saint and get to know the community, and represent the organization.”
The Saints would like to welcome Josh and his family to the organization and the City of Spruce Grove.
