Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the team has signed forward William Seger (’05) for the 2024-25 season.
Seger, 19, comes to the Saints after playing the past two seasons with the Malmo Redhawks program, spending time with both the U18 and U20 teams.
The Uppsala, Sweden native, who stands 6’6” and checks in at 193 pounds, has some experience playing in North America, spending the 2021-22 campaign with the Seacoast Performance Academy 16U team in New Hampshire. In 51 games played, he recorded nine goals and 31 points.
“William is a power forward who skated well for a big man,” expressed Sklaruk, “We expect him to get in on the forecheck, retrieve pucks and create opportunities. He’s a defensively responsible player and we look forward to seeing what he can do with this opportunity with us.”
The Saints will renew an old rivalry this weekend as they get ready for a home-and-home set against the Sherwood Park Crusaders, beginning at Sherwood Park Arena on Friday night. Puck drop is slated for 7:00pm with the game being broadcast live on the Saints Radio Network as well as streamed on FloHockey.
Spruce Grove returns home to Grant Fuhr Arena for the second half of the weekend set against the Crusaders on Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase online at tickets.sprucegrovesaints.ca.
