Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Tuesday the team has signed forward Marko Djordjevic (’04) for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Djordjevic, 20, comes to the Saints following three-plus seasons with the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). The veteran forward, standing a 6’1” and weighing 185 pounds, suited up in 112 games for the Hounds while amassing 26 goals and 41 assists for 67 points in that span. This season, Djordjevic has had a breakout year offensively, leading his team with 18 goals and 40 points in 44 games played while adding a ruggedness to his game with 101 penalty minutes, ranking 8th in the SJHL in that regard.
A native of Leduc, Alberta, Djordjevic has also secured a commitment to play beyond his junior hockey eligibility as he will head to Toronto Metropolitan University next season in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) league.
The Saints would like to welcome Marko and his family to the organization as well as the community of Spruce Grove.
Spruce Grove returns home to Grant Fuhr Arena for the first of a two-game weekend on home ice as they take on the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday night. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase online at tickets.sprucegrovesaints.ca.
