The Spruce Grove Saints are pleased to announce defenseman Brodie Kay (’06) has been named to Great Britain’s Under-20 World Junior Hockey Championship team, who will compete in the Division II, Group A tournament in Bucharest, Romania.
Kay, 19, will represent his country on the international stage at the Division II World Juniors for the second consecutive year after playing in the tournament in Croatia last year and earning five assists in five games. The Kirkcaldy, Great Britain native has suited up in three games for the Saints thus far and posted an assist in his time in Spruce Grove.
Kay will join his British teammates on January 2nd in Nottingham for ice sessions before traveling to Romania for the tournament and will be away from the Saints following the holiday break. Great Britain’s first matchup is set against Spain on January 4th.
