Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Monday the team has signed defenseman Blair Erickson (’08) for the 2026-27 season.
Erickson, 18, will join the Saints full time in the new season following stretches of time in Spruce Grove over the 2025-26 campaign, including scoring his first career BCHL goal on January 9th against the Okotoks Oilers as part of his three games played as an affiliate player with the team. The towering defenseman stands at 6’7″ and weighs in at 201 pounds while adding length and size to the Saints blue line.
A native of Irma, Alberta, Erickson has played each of his last three seasons with the Lloydminster Athletics 18U program in the Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) where he played 81 total games from 2023-2026, amassing 23 goals and 26 assists for 49 points in that span.
“We are very excited to add Blair to our blueline next season,” mentioned Saints GM Rob Sklaruk, “He’s a big body but skates very well for his size. He has been around our program a lot over the past season and didn’t look out of place as an AP in his games last year.”
