Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today Bram Stephen has been named Head Coach and Vice-President of Player Development.
Stephen, 38, returns to the Saints organization after previously serving as the club’s Head Coach from 2017 to 2023. While behind the bench for Spruce Grove, the Edmonton, Alberta native compiled an impressive 234-68-11-6 record, including capturing a league championship in 2018. He also led the Saints to four league finals during his first tenure with the team.
“Bram is an experienced and well-respected individual who we feel is one of the top coaches in the country,” stated Sklaruk. “His commitment to player growth, coupled with his strategic insights will be invaluable when it comes to developing hockey players not only on the ice, but also as fine young men off the ice. We are thrilled to welcome Bram back and can’t wait to start a new era of Saints hockey at our Spring Camp this weekend.”
Stephen described today’s announcement saying, “I’m incredibly excited to be back coaching in the Saints organization. I’d like to thank ownership and management for the opportunity and trust to lead the team again. Additionally, I’d like to thank my family for all their love and support as I get back to coaching hockey. I’ve certainly missed the relationships with the players and staff and am excited to get in the mix again and work hard for a high level of success.”
The Saints would like to welcome Bram and his family back to Spruce Grove and to his familiar spot behind the Saints bench.
