Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced on Friday the team has committed to forward Lucas Knorr (’07) for the 2025-26 season.
Knorr, 18, joins the Saints and remains in the Edmonton area after spending his first full season of junior hockey with the Devon Xtreme last year in the AJHL where the 5’8”, 150-pound forward posted six goals and 22 points in 53 games as a rookie in Devon.
The Edmonton, Alberta native previously spent two seasons with the Jr. Oilers U18 AAA team before making the jump to junior hockey, collecting 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points in 69 games in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL).
“It’s always great to be able to bring in local talent and Lucas is someone who we think can be a good young player for our team,” mentioned Sklaruk on Knorr, “Getting his first year of junior hockey under his belt last season, we expect Lucas to compete hard each day.”
“I am very excited get the season started with the Spruce Grove Saints,” Knorr said of joining the organization, “I’m lucky to have the opportunity to sign with such a high class organization, hearing nothing but great things like the coaching staff along with the community. Really looking forward to also playing in a brand new facility and continuing the tradition of Saints hockey.”
The Saints begins their new season ushering in a new era at the Thompson Family Arena on Friday, September 19th as they host the Brooks Bandits to kick-off the 2025-26 BC Hockey League season.
