In a competitive matchup between the Spruce Grove Saints and the Blackfalds Bulldogs, the Saints fell short with a final score of 4-2 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The game started off strong for the Saints as Alexander Babich from Chicago, IL, opened the scoring in the first period, putting the Saints ahead 1-0.
However, the Bulldogs came back strongly in the middle period, scoring two goals to take the lead with a score of 2-1. Despite this setback, the Saints battled back and Jed Magarrell (Coaldale, AB) sent the puck through traffic to bring the Saints within one.
With a penalty filled final frame, Brendan Ross sealed the victory with one power play goal and one five-on-five goal, securing a 4-2 win for Blackfalds.
