The Sundars Shine, With Two Points Each As Saints Top Oilers 4-3 Sunday Afternoon

The playoff preview between the Spruce Grove Saints and Okotoks Oilers was a thrilling season finale. The Saints emerged victorious with a 4-3 win over the Oilers.

The scoring opened with a goal from Ethan Sundar of St. Albert, Alberta, assisted by his brother, giving the Saints an early 1-0 lead. Soon after, the team’s captain, Ryder Matter from Leduc, Alberta, extended the lead to 2-0. Jed Magarrell, hailing from Coaldale, Alberta, then scored to make it back-to-back games with a goal for him.

Early in the middle frame, Brennan Hocher managed to get one past the Saints’ goaltender, putting the Oilers on the scoreboard. However, Stephen Kirkpatrick, from Edmonton, Alberta, responded swiftly for the Saints, reestablishing their three-goal lead.

The Oilers fought back valiantly in the third period, scoring two goals to make the game more exciting. However, the Saints managed to persevere and held on to their lead, securing the 4-3 victory.
