NEWS: Saints Welcome Veteran Declan Waddick

Geneal Manager Rob Sklaruk announced Thursday the team has signed forward Declan Waddick (’05) for the 2025-26 season.

Waddick, 20, makes his way to Spruce Grove following a long tenure in the Ontario Hockey League, splitting 247 games between the Niagara Ice Dogs and Owen Sound Attack. The 5’9”, 165-pound forward has posted 63 goals and 125 points over the course of his OHL career, including a strong campaign during the 2024-25 season in Owen Sound where he registered 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points in 61 games played.

The Lakeshore, Ontario native provides the Saints with offensive punch and plenty of junior experience, as Saints GM Rob Sklaruk explains, “Declan is a player who we think can come in and make a difference in our lineup. He has almost 250 games of junior hockey experience under his belt and brings strong offensive instincts that will really compliment our group.”

Waddick is set to join the Saints this week ahead of their third game of the season coming on Friday night as they get set to host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at Thompson Family Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available online at tickets.sgsaints.ca.
