Spruce Grove Saints Sign Ryan Harvey

Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk has announced the Saints have signed 18-year-old defenceman Ryan Harvey to the teams active roster.

Harvey, from Stouffville, Ontario, joins the Saints from the Stoufville Spirit of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). Through 38 games played this season, the 6’0″, 194-pound, left-shot defenseman has put up 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists) and 24 penalty minutes.

Before joining Stoufville, Harvey progressed through the ranks of the Ajax/Pickering Raiders program, competing from the U15 to U18 levels.

General Manager Sklaruk spoke about the addition of Harvey to the team.

“We’ve been searching for a left-shot defender for a while now and bringing Ryan onto our roster was just what we were looking for. With his strong skating ability and puck-moving skills, he’s a defenseman who can navigate out of tough situations and deliver a solid first pass. Coach Ryan Marsh is eager to start working with Harvey and tapping into his offensive mindset.”

The Saints would like to welcome Ryan and the entire Harvey family to our organization.
The Saints return to the ice this Friday, beginning a stretch of four road games in Okotoks. The schedule continues in Sherwood Park on the 13th and 17th, then against Blackfalds on the 18th before returning home on Feb 24th for a tilt against Okotoks.
